Two New Traffic Generation Strategies You Have Never Heard Of Before

Hi All,

Mention traffic generation and chances are, people will suggest the usual approached. Article marketing, forum posting, reciprocal linking, search engine optimization (SEO), and even traffic buying… these are just some of the choices you always read about in many resource centers in the World Wide Web

And since information about them is everywhere, you could bet your bottom dollar that your competitors are doing the exact same tactics.

You need something better. You need something new. You need something effective that people have yet to exploit & as you know I love Unorthodox Traffic Creation Methods.......

And boy, are you in luck!

In this article, we’re going to discuss two powerful traffic generating strategies that you have never heard of before, and chances are, your competitors won’t have a clue about them either. These are tactics that are “hot off the press,” so to speak. They have just been discovered, and they are bound to give you unbridled traffic the likes of which you may not have experienced before.

The Secrets Of MySpace

There are reports circulating that www.myspace.com is generating 2 ½ times the amount of traffic that Google is acquiring. This is mistaken report that grew out of proportions. The real fact is that www.myspace.com is using 2 ½ times the bandwidth of Google, given the many exciting, but bandwidth-hungry, features of this website.

Nonetheless, there is no denying the fact that MySpace is one of the MOST visited websites today.

MySpace is a community website that allows people to create their own profiles and connect the same to other people to build their own virtual network. It’s quite easy to build your network in this community. People claim that they are able to gain 1,500 contacts within two weeks.

Now, how could these statistics help you generate massive traffic for your own website?

Simple.

Create a MySpace profile and build your network. It doesn’t require much effort. There are already quite a number of services out there that could even do the job for you.

Include your main website’s link in your profile page. This would give you a back link on a page that has a very high Page Rank (PR), which is excellent to boost your website’s own PR. For the uninitiated, a high PR would mean a higher placement in search engine results, hence a greater volume of traffic for your website.

But this isn’t enough.

MySpace also has a community billboard feature. If you’d post there, your message would appear in the profiles of all your contacts. Simply include your link in your message. Imagine if you have 20,000 contacts. You could potentially garner 20,000 visitors with just one message. Additionally, you’d have 20,000 back links pointing to your main website! This is a wonderful opportunity to increase your link popularity!

This MySpace route is something that has yet to be exploited. In fact, most of the internet marketing superstars have yet to discover this approach.

Yes indeed.

You’ll be one of the first!

Connecting With CraigsList

The website www.craigslist.com is an online classified ads center dedicated to employment opportunities. However, it accepts all manners of advertisements.

For free, at that!

What does this mean?

Well, Craigslist is a PR7 website. Simply choose the category most appropriate for the subject of your website and place an advertisement that would invite readers to visit your web pages.

They don’t have to click on the link. They don’t have to visit your website.

Having your link in a PR7 website is enough to spike up your own website’s Page Rank! Again, this means a higher position in search engine results pages, and more organic traffic for your online business.

Amazing strategies, aren’t they?

And what’s best is that you’re one of the first people to know about them. So use them well and get the head start on your competition!

How To Get Free Advertising By Participating In E-mail Discussion Lists

Posting messages to e-mail discussion lists is a great way to get free advertising. An e-mail discussion list is a group of people connected together via e-mail that can communicate with one another. When you post a message to a list include your signature file at the end. Your sig file should be no more than 5 to 6 lines. Include an attention getting sentence why they should visit your web site or e-mail your auto responder. Try to select list's that are archived because your signature file will be viewed for years to come.

E-mail discussion lists are highly targeted. There are thousands of discussion lists with thousands of different subjects. You can usually subscribe to these lists by sending an e-mail or by filling out a web form. You want to subscribe to one that would be related to your target audience. If you are selling books about marketing, you would want to post to lists were business people and marketers would congregate.

Before posting to any e-mail discussion list, read the FAQ or rules first. They will tell you what kinds of posts are allowed. Read the messages for a few days before posting your message to see what type of messages are being posted. If the list is archived you could read the older messages. If you want to make sure, you could e-mail the list moderator. Never post messages that are unrelated to the list's subject.

There are many different types of messages you could post to the e-mail discussion list. You could post an informative comment or article that would interest the other list members. Post a question on the discussion list that you would like answered. You could answer another person's question on the list. When you post and answer questions you will become know as an expert and meet other experts on the list.

Generating Traffic to Your Web Site

When promoting any product or service every hit to your website counts.

So assuming your site converts a percentage of visitors to sales, the more traffic, the more sales you make!

I have read a number of articles lately on how to write good ad or sales copy and optimising websites.

What I have not seen is how to get consistent numbers of hits to your site. Well may be, that is not quite true as you are constantly blasted with email about driving traffic to your site. But most of these options require you to get your bank card out. You know the rest !

I was checking the stats to my web sites and noticed 2 new referrers to my site. It occurred to me the importance of getting consistent visitors or hits to your site.

One site referring traffic was the Ryze Network where I have been posting in the "Promote It" network and receiving a slow but steady number of site visitors. The Ryze network is a place where you receive your own free web page where you are able to add a photo and information about your personal and business interests.

I'm also a member of the "ItsYourCoach" and the Entrepreneurs Opportunities, Ryze Networks and there are hundreds of others to join.

To learn more here is my personal Ryze page. http://www.ryze.com/go/VoIP

You are able to contact other members and join any number of networks which focus on a whole range of topics. Then you are able to go that one step further and upgrade to full membership where you can edit the html on your page along with other options.

One of my personal websites is receiving hits most days from Ryze and I am most likely receiving to affiliate sites that I'm promoting through Ryze too.

While I was looking at the posts in a forum I found a new Search Engine - Directory. It is offering Free membership until it officially opens. You are able to add your site to their directory - search listings http://www.4az.com If you list your site it is displayed, highlighted at the top of revaluate search's.

At present they are offering free membership listings but when they open, any new members will enter an affiliated program.

Another slow but steady number of hits come from Opportunity.com This only works if you get new members to join. You are able to send email to targeted prospects every week - 100% Free to join and real easy to set-up. You even receive a free email alias and an ID.

http://www.opportunity.com/r/VoIP_NZ

I have used an opportunity.com redirect link or Sub-Domain for my ezine. You are provided 10 sub-domains - redirect links. Having your link in an email ending in an Affiliated link has a good chance of getting your email filtered (dumped) by many ISP's. So using an Opportunity.com sub-domain for my ezine looks like this.

http://www.the-index-ezine.opportunity.com

If you are getting visitors to your site, Thumbshots Ranking is a way to compare search engine ranking between Google, Yahoo and a few others. Your ranking determines the amount of traffic you will likely receive from search engines.

One thing I noticed was that Google would only list one link where as Yahoo would list all links to the site or page you typed into the two text boxes. I have a couple of sites at the top of the ranking and for my Internet-Income-Index.com site Google listed one link and Yahoo listed 100. So you can see that each search engine uses different methods of ranking and listing your site.

http://www.thumbshots.org have a poll on search engines preferences. Google has 76% and second is Yahoo with only 8%. That is a big difference.

The Idea behind http://thumbshots.net is to provide a thumb nail image of your site when it is listed in search results. Thumbshots (ThumbNails) are screenshots of web pages to help you locate web sites quickly and easily. Thumbshots display exactly what you would get before visiting a link. Millions of people trust and rely on thumbshots to take control of their surfing.

This is similar to Alexa.com where you are able to ask Alexa to visit your site and take a thumb nail image of your home page to display beside your site if it comes up in the top 3 results in a search.

Ask Alexa to take a Thumb Nail of your site.

http://thumbnails.alexa.com/update_thumbnail

I am sure getting side tracked from getting hits to your site but this is all good info to keep. This is how easy it is to get side tracked when researching one topic, But it still relates to promoting your site.

So now to explain more about Thumbshot.com, .org and .net They have a large directory with results from Dmoz.org and other sources. There are a number of search engines placing Thumbnails of web pages beside search results already.

ThumbNail.com are going one step further in that they are creating a directory like Dmoz with ThumbNails and are supplying other Directories and search engines with listings.

My prediction is that in the very near future as more people change to Broadband and WiFi many search engines will provide a ThumbNail beside their search results. Who will be first Google, Yahoo or MSN ?

But in the next year or so you may have to manually submit your site to Alexa.com or add either the Thumbshot.com image or test link at http://www.thumbshots.org/attribution.pxf to your site before they will display your Web page thumbnail next to your listing. As most home or index pages appear in search engines add their link there and on any page that comes up in searches.

NOTE: But Some of my website pages are coming up with a ThumbNail some aren't. Now work this one out. Some pages are coming up with a ThumbNail view of the "Home Page" but then there is no ThumbNail displayed beside the home page when I do a search in the directory at thumbshot.net ??

My Internet-Income-Index.com site shows the ThumbNail without me adding the image or link to my site so they must also be indexing some sites and taking the screen shots.

NOTE also that Sites that look cool in real size may not look so hot as a Thumbnail.

How to Use eBay to Grow Your Other Businesses.

Most of the people who make money from eBay don't actually make all of that money on eBay. There are all sorts of ways you can use eBay to give your existing businesses a helping hand.

The Supply Side.

If you have any leftover stock or used items from another business you run, then why not sell them on eBay? You can make this a regular thing, using it to get rid of things that won't sell for the premium you ask for in a shop, or items that are no longer in demand in the town or city where your business is based.

You can really make a lot of money this way, if you know what you're doing. You will, of course, already be an expert in the items you're selling, as you use them in your business, and you'll know that the items are of high enough quality to be sellable. This is a whole new market for your old inventory!

Not only that, of course, but remember that your good eBay reputation will make you a great buyer! If there's ever anything you want to get for your business, the chances are you'll be able to get it on eBay for a discount.

The Sales Side.

Here, though, is where the true power of eBay lies. eBay give you an 'About Me' page, where you can write anything you like and link anywhere you like. This means that you can get traffic to your business' website by linking to your website from your About Me page and linking to your About Me page from each auction.

To create an About Me page, just click on 'Community' on the toolbar, scroll to the bottom of the page, and click 'Create an About Me page'. You then get the option to either enter your own HTML or let eBay guide you through the process. All you need to do is write a little about your website, link to it, and you're done - you'll notice that more people start to come to your site straight away.

There are thousands of people who swear by this technique to drive traffic from eBay to their website - with a little persuasive sales copy on your site, they say, you can sell directly to buyers, cutting out the eBay middleman. What's more, all the traffic you'll get will be targeted - because the people who click through were interested in your auction to begin with.

This can be a really powerful technique, especially if you've already got an e-commerce site. Even if you haven't, you might find it worth your time to set up a website that does nothing but list your eBay inventory with a few dollars off each item, with a PayPal 'Buy Now' button for each item. Then simply make the link to your About Me page read 'Visit my website for even more bargains!', and you're done.

Now that you've seen how to drive visitors to your website, maybe you'd like a little help getting your auction in front of buyers. That's why our next email will show you the secrets of taming the eBay search engine.

Methods Of Raising Instant Cash

The inability to come up with the necessary cash when suddenly presented with a "can't miss" opportunity, is one of the most frustrating experiences anyone ever live through. Yet, there are literally hundreds of ways to raise unlimited amounts of cash in an hour or less! You may not be aware of many of these cash-raising methods we're about to describe for you, but they are all legal and any one of them could be the answer to your money needs the next time you have an opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a sure-fire winner. The important thing is to be aware of the possibilities, and then to position yourself to use them when the need arises.

Almost everyone uses plastic credit cards in place of money for the purchase of many of the things they want and need. Most people aren't aware though, that in addition to merchandise and services, you can also buy money with these credit cards.

The "Cash Advance" privilege of these cards is actually the best and easiest way to raise cash - immediately and with no questions asked. Generally, most people can write themselves a check for at least a thousand dollars against these credit cards and with no questions or quibbling relative to the amount requested. With an American Express card, you can even write yourself a check for $2,500 with no argument. Now then, if you have 10 of these credit cards, and you needed $10,000 - all you'd have to do would be to write 10 different check for $1,000 each - a $1,000 check against each of your credit cards with this cash advance privilege - present the checks at each of the banks sponsoring the credit cards, and you've got the $10,000 you were needing.

Besides the no-fee cards such as MasterCard and Visa, there's a growing number of travel and entertainment cards such as American Express, Carte Blanche and Diners Club.

Your annual income and credit rating has to be higher than for many of the others, and they charge you an annual service charge for the privilege of using them, but the amount of cash you can draw against them is much higher. For instance, with an American Express "Gold Card," you can draw up to $5,000 in instant cash, immediately with no questions asked. In addition to the "cash advance" privileges of most credit cards, most modern bank accounts include an automatic overdraft provision. This amounts to the privilege of your being able to write a check for more than the balance you have in the bank, and the bank honoring your check by merely loaning you money to cover the amount of the check.

In effect, this is an immediate and automatic loan to you - without questions. Most of these "check guarantee" accounts will cover you up to at least $1,000 and if you have 3- such accounts, you can write three $1,000 checks, and be on your way with whatever you need instant cash for . Another source of money is your circle of friends and relatives. Therefore, it's always to your benefit to make friends, encourage them as necessary, and keep them believing in you. One of the easiest of all money-raising ideas to promote amongst your friends and relatives is the sale of "private stock" in your idea or project. For instance, if 100 of your friends and relatives were to give you $100 each, you'd have $10,000 with which to either jump into or launch a new venture.

And by-the-way, it's always important to have at least 3 people you can count on to co-sign a note or loan for you if the need should ever arise. Loans against life insurance policies are another source of "no questions asked" instant cash. You simply borrow against the cash value of the policy, and in most cases, the interest you pay is far lower than against other loans, plus you never have to pay it back nor will your insurance policy lost value, so long as you keep the interest payments up to date.

Still another avenue to explore is the feasibility of using your insurance policy as collateral when you don't seem to have enough unassigned collateral otherwise. If you're buying the home you live in, and have a conventional home mortgage, you can often-times borrow against the equity you've built up. Generally speaking, if you buy a home for $50,000 - live in it and make regular payments on the mortgage for 10- years - the value of your home has probably increased to the neighborhood of $100,000 and conceivably, you could borrow $50,000 against your equity. In these times of tight money, this is a most intelligent method of coming up with the cash you need to start a new business.

There's also a lot of possible instant cash just lying dormant in people's attics, basements and garages. Go through all the things you've got stored - you may find valuable heirlooms, priceless antiques and collectibles that other people are looking for, and willing to buy from you. And, don't forget all the money you've loaned out to friends, neighbors and/or relatives over the years - check your memory and get in touch with these people - ask for repayment.

Finally, if you're wanting to start a business, and you've got your business plan all together, don't be afraid to take it in and show the people at your commercial bank. These banks - as opposed to regular savings banks - are always on the lookout for new businesses to invest in, and are willing to take risks they'll welcome you with "open arms" and can really help.

Search Engine Optimization For Blogs

Blogging software is really a simple Content Management System (CMS) that easily adds new pages and integrates them into your site's navigational structure and linkage.

Blogs and blog posts are naturally search engine friendly because they are text-rich, link-rich, frequently-updated webpages that use stylesheets or CSS, and have very little extraneous HTML.

Optimizing a blog is very similar to optimizing a website, and optimizing a blog post similar to optimizing a web page.

But depending on the blogging service or software you use, the results may look somewhat different.

If you follow some simple rules for search engine optimization, your blog can rank much higher than static website pages in the search engine results pages.

Here are the most important rules to follow to get your posts listed for keywords of your choice.

1. Use your primary keyword in your blog domain

Whether you purchase a separate domain (recommended) for your blog, or host it on a blogging service or a subdomain of your own site, try to ensure that your URL contains the primary keyword you want to optimize for.

For example, if you want your blog to get found for the keyword "rss" get a domain with the keyword "rss", or use the keyword in a subdomain as in

http://ebizwhiz-publishing.com/rssnews

Getting a domain name with your own name might make for good branding, especially if yours is a personal blog.

But if you're doing it for business and want the targeted traffic to flow your way, keywords in the domain or subdomain are a move in the right direction.

2. Use your primary key phrase in your blog header tags and the title of your posts

If your primary key phrase is "business blogging" make sure that the word business, or blogging, or both, appear in your blog headers (the H1 or H2 tags) as well as the title of each of your posts.

Most blogging software will take the keywords in your post title and put them into the file name of the permalink posts it creates.

For example, if you have a blog on Blogger and title your post "Search Engine Optimization For Blogs", Blogger will automatically create a page with your post and name the file "search-engine-optimization-for-blogs.html" or something similar.

With other server-side software like Wordpress and Movable Type, you may require the mod_rewrite command to save the title of your entries as a permalink.

3. Use your secondary keywords in the body of your post

If you want to get listed for secondary keywords use them infrequently in the body of your post and pepper your blog titles or links with them appropriately.

Don't overdo this or your posts will end up sounding unnatural and spammy to readers.

4. Use your keywords in the anchor text of links

Keyword in links have more importance than simple text.

Use your primary and secondary keywords in the anchor text of links when linking to other blog posts or to other pages on your main site.

Link keywords where they naturally appear in the body text, but again, don't overdo it, or you'll end up with spammy looking pages.

5. Make sure search engines can spider your blog easily

Set up your blog so that the side navigation bar is present on all pages.

Make sure your archives and previous posts are accessible from all pages of your blog so they get spidered easily.

6. Get backlinks from other blogs or websites

Links pointing to your blog or posts are essential to build pagerank and make your blog rank higher in the search engine listings.

I've seen many people recommend Blogrolling as one method of building links to your blog.

BlogRolling is a one-stop linklist manager for your blog or journal. But all this service actually does is give you a bit of javascript code that "calls" the links.

As far as search engine rankings go, this method of linking is of little use, because spiders can't read external javascript code.

Instead I recommend that you focus your linking efforts on the methods here.

Submitting to Blog Search Engines and Directories:

Submitting your blog and RSS feed to blog search engines and directories is essential for getting high-quality links back to your blog.

Here is the best list I've found of places to submit your feed or blog.

Best Blog Directory And RSS Submission Sites

Link Exchanges:

Many similarly-themed blogs are often willing to exchange links with other blogs and form richly interlinked networks or communities. Link exchanges with other blogs are easy to implement with most blogging software.

Trackbacks:

You can also get links back to your blog using trackbacks. One of the disadvantages of using Blogger is that it does not automatically create trackback urls that others can use to link back to your posts.

Haloscan is a free service that will automatically add comments and trackbacks to your Blogger blog.

But if trackbacks are an important component of your linking strategy, I would advise using another software or system that adds this feature automatically.

Comments:

You can also get back links to your blog by posting legitimate comments in response to posts on other blogs.

7. Update frequently

There's no better food for search engine spiders than fresh content.

Post and update your blog frequently using all the rules outlined above and there's no reason why your blog will not get you top rankings in a short period of time.

8. Stay put

Once you create your blog, try to stick to the same domain and blog host or system for as long as you continue to publish.

You could end up losing a lot of your traffic, your readers and all your search engine listings if you decide to move.

10 Hot Ways To Sell Your Products Like Crazy

1. Turn your ad copy into a story or article. Your visitors won't be as hesitant to read your ad and will become more interested in your product.

2. Give visitors a freebie for filling out your online survey or they usually won't. Surveys will give your business valuable intelligence for your business

3. Enhance the power of your ad copy benefits by using attention getting words, highlighting keywords, using color, bolding key phrases, underlining, etc.

4. Give your visitors tons of choices so they don't get the feeling of being controlled. Offer them a variety of ways to order, contact you, navigate, etc.

5. Put yourself in your visitors shoes. Design your site for them, not for yourself. Create your product around your visitors not because you would buy it.

6. Get free advice from successful online business owners. Participate in business chat rooms and message boards to chat with them.

7. Use your free bonuses to create an urgency for your visitors to buy. Only offer them for a limited time with your main product.

8. Offer your customers extra add-on products at the point of purchase. For example, if they are buying an electronic toy try to sell batteries with it.

9. Make your visitors feel good about themselves by giving them compliments. If they feel good they will also feel good about buying from your web site.

10. Add multiple profits to your web site. If you're selling business books try to sell business services, courses and supplies too.

Guide to Internet Business - Concept and Opportunities

When deciding what kind of internet business you want to do, there are a few factors you need to look at before plunging into building your website.

a) TYPE OF BUSINESS

The first thing you need to consider is exactly what kind of business you want to build. There are generally two types of internet businesses out there: a full-fledged online store selling a product or service, or an informational website earning income from affiliate commissions and advertisements.

i) You might want to consider setting up an online store if you fall under one of the following categories:

- You have a product that you are already selling offline, and want to use the internet to increase your market.

- You provide a service (such as consulting or web design) and want to use the internet to sell your services and increase your clientele.

- You do not have a product or service, but want to start an online store by partnering with a product manufacturer or wholesaler.

ii) On the other hand, you might want to set up an informational website and earn from affiliate commissions and advertisements. This is possible if you fall under one of the following:

- You want to create a website about something that you really like or are interested in.

- You want to promote an affiliate program or product that you like and want to tell the world about.

- You want to provide information or compile advice from various sources regarding something that you are good at.

b) INTEREST

Another very important factor is your interest in the topic or industry in which you want to do your internet business. It is not advisable to start an internet business relating to a lucrative industry such as online casinos, but you have no interest whatsoever in casinos, and worse if you have moral issues with the running of casinos.

I just want you to be aware of some of the common pitfalls you might encounter if you get involved in something that you are not quite interested in:

- If you have not much interest in a topic or industry, it will show in the content and quality of your website. It takes someone with considerable interest to perform good research on the topic, and to create a website full of relevant and personal information and content.

- Without continued interest, you will slowly start to find excuses not to work on your website. And internet business is a continuous love affair. It requires constant updates and internet marketing effort to enjoy good success. If you've lost interest and start to ignore the business, your profits will also start to decline.

In short, internet business (like any other business) requires genuine effort and interest in order to succeed. And it is a lifelong love affair, not a one night stand!

c) INCOME OPPORTUNITY

However, interest isn't everything. The income potential is important too. After all, it's no use laboring over something you love with no profits to show for it. But the good thing is that internet businesses are so cheap to start that it doesn't take much to make a profit!

i) If you want to setup an online store, don't just look at how big the market is. You also have to look at how much competition you face in your chosen industry. For example, an online bookstore will have a huge market (almost everyone reads), but there are plenty of competitors out there such as Amazon.com with a bigger wallet and are more established. In cases like these, you will have to consider allocating a larger budget for advertising and attracting customers.

On the other hand, if you want to start a online store selling waterproof cameras for diving, the market might not be all that big (probably just diving enthusiasts), but because there are few competitors, it will be easier for your store to stand out. As they say: "It might not be a big pie, but you'll get the lion's share of it".

ii) If you want to create an informational website, you have to keep your competition in mind as well. In addition, you need to make sure that your selected topic has sufficient income potential such as affiliate programs and advertisements.

These affiliate programs and advertisements should be related to your website. For example, a wedding planning website can promote affiliate programs related to photography and event management, but should not promote an escort service! In addition, every website can earn some extra cash by placing advertisements (not too many) on their webpages. A good ad service is Google's AdSense program.

d) Commitment

The last factor I want to touch on is commitment to your internet business. There are two types of commitment you should be aware of: money and time.

By its very nature, internet businesses require very little money to start. However, profits don't come immediately. Websites take time, sometimes as much as 6 months, to start ranking in the search engines and getting traffic. You therefore have to plan for that much time of operational losses (including your hosting costs). If you are in a highly competitive industry, you will also have to factor in your monthly advertising budget.

However, the most important commitment you have to make is your time. As they say: "If you treat it like a business, it will pay you like a business; If you treat it like a hobby, it will pay you like a hobby."

You need to know how much time you can allocate to the business. A simple informational website can be setup gradually on just one hour a day. However, setting up an online store will require almost full-time effort in the beginning. Once your store is done, then your time commitment will drop.

When you've decided what kind of internet business you are interested in, and how much resources to put into it, you can then look at the second step, researching the design and content of your website. You can check out the entire Step-By-Step Guide by visiting the website below.

Internet Home Business :: 7 Ways To Choose The Right One For You

How do i choose the best home business among the internet business opportunities jungle ?

There are litterally millions of them on the internet. Where do i start ? And how do i know if this or this home business is the right one for me ?

There are so many home business opportunities out there that its hard to know where to start. And how do you know you have chosen the best one? It can all get pretty frustrating.

First do some research. How long are they in business ? Do they have a good products to sales ? Do they pay good commission ? Do they deliver the check ? (I remember one home business where i have never seen a check !)

So here is 7 ways to choose your own home business

1. FREE TO JOIN

Do you have to pay to join an affiliate program for example ? How much those it cost ? Are you willing to pay $1000 a month or between $30 to $100 a month ? Are you willing to advertise between $50 to $5000 a month to bring people etc.

Most people dont want to pay a lot of money before starting up a home business. So in my experience you should choose a home business that cost $30 to $75 a month.(It should be FREE to join). The cost should be for buying product to try yourself and advertising.

2. FREE WEBSITE

Does your home business offer you a free website or free gateways ? If not! Are you able to make or run a website. Or to pay to make one. (It can cost between $100 to $5000 to have one made by an expert.)3. FREE TRAINING OR FOLLOW UP

Affiliate Marketing What Is It And Why Use It?

Affiliate Marketing is having Affiliates do your Marketing for you. What I mean by Affiliate is someone who tells people about your product/service and you pay them for a desired response, such as a purchase.

Affiliate Marketing is one of the best ways to get the word out about your product/service.

The best way to pay Affiliates is pay per sale. This means that you only have to pay your Affiliates when they actually make a sale. This reduces your advertising costs dramatically. your Affiliates take on all the risks so you don't have to worry about wasting your money on advertising which may not produce any results.

Using Affiliate is a very cheap way to advertise, however it is very effective. The software required to start up your own Affiliate program can cost only about $50 per month.

Then after that just wait for people to start promoting your product/service for you.

Please remember that 5% of your Affiliates will do 95% of the selling. What I mean by this is that most of your Affiliates will just sit there and do nothing. This can be countered if you teach them what to do, exactly how to do it and providing everything for them so they have to do as little work as possible.

To find out about teaching your Affiliates please see the "How To Super Charge Your Affiliates" article

You don't have to use this form of advertising just to sell your product or service. You can also use it to grow your opt-in mailing list. This is discussed in another article.

How Much Should You Pay Your Affiliates

How much you pay your Affiliates really depends on how much your product/service costs, its profit margin, how much you're willing to give up and what action you want to take place.

Lets say that your product is priced at $100. Lets also assume that it cost you $10 to make it. This leaves you with $90 profit.

How much of this do you want to give away to the person that made this sale possible?

Personally, I believe that you should give a rather high percentage of the profits back to the affiliate (Depending on how many sales they regularly generate), because without them, you wouldn't have made that particular sale at all, so reward them for it.

A fairly decent reward is about 50% of the revenue generated. Your product is priced at $100 so a $50 commission is quite generous. It really depends on your other costs (such as a mortgage) you have, which would help decide on a fair commission to both you and the Affiliate.

Another factor which plays a part is how much additional advertising you do, such as pay per click. For example, if you rely solely on your Affiliates to Market for you, then you may want to reduce the commission you pay to them to help you survive. However, you may want to pay them more, to encourage them to send more sales you way. It really is a judgment call.

On the other hand, if you advertise in other ways effectively, then you can afford to pay higher commissions, because you're not putting all your eggs in one basket.

In the end it's all down to how greedy or generous you are. The best advice I can give you is to pay the affiliate what you think he/she deserves. Hopefully that way everyone is happy and earning their fair share.

Why Are You Not Making Money On The Internet?

Why are you not making money on the Internet? For many of you, the answer is simple - you have not gotten started!

One of the questions I received via email this week posed this question: I keep thinking that I'm ready to launch my website, but then I find out that there's more to learn. Should I wait until I learn it all before I start my website?

No. No. No. For several reasons . . .

First, If you have your own small home business idea to make money online, or want to have your own online business, you want to get yourself set up quickly. If you want to have your "Business Store Front" up on the web now, think "Now," not "Detail, detail, detail, detail, etc." There will be plenty of time for details later.

The reason I say this is most of you are thinking detail, detail, detail, instead of yelling "Go" and charging forward. Most of you already know enough and will learn along the way the other things you need to know. Think about getting out of your shell and not being intimidated, expand your horizons and have the confidence in yourself you deserve to have.

Second, learning should be an endless process. We're never going to learn everything. We're especially never going to learn everything about the Internet because it's growing and changing too rapidly.

Third, as much as you can try to learn things before you start a business, most of your learning will only occur through the process of starting and running the business.

As children, we can observe adults walking and talking. But, that's not the same as us doing those things. Even when we know what to do, walking and talking are skills that must be practiced as well as learned. The same learning process applies to business.

Fourth, you simply have to get started moving forward. You have to get in the game.

Some of you may have seen the statistic that proves "99% of the time you don't swing the bat at the baseball, you don't hit it!" What's the other 1%? Well . . . sometimes, the ball does hit the bat, but that's not going to get you a hit.

Fifth, you have to start making mistakes. They're important. You're going to make them anyway so don't worry about it. But, you have make them to get them out of the way. How important are mistakes?

Thomas Edison stated that each failure to produce the desired result (i.e., the light bulb) simply moved him one more step closer to finding the solution.

Tom Watson (founder of IBM) was asked by an employee how the employee could prosper in the company. Tom's short reply was "Make your mistakes faster!"

Sixth, but still important, you also want to have momentum and keep your enthusiasm as you get your own home business off the planning board and up on the Internet. Getting to caught up in a lot of little details in the very beginning can really bog you down, sap your energy, and start to really crush your spirit and enthusiasm.

Remember also that your primary goal is to make money from home on the Internet. You're goal is not to learn everything there is to know, you want to be profitable baby, 'cause that what it's all about!

Use your intelligence of course, and learn all you can. But remember your goal, so budget your time to make money, don't spend all your time learning. And keep in mind that most people get way too caught up in the details. You'll get the details later on as you go. Just yell "Go."

Lastly, wouldn't you rather make some money on the way AND get charged up seeing your home business idea become a reality?

So, stop waiting. Start swinging at the ball. You'll miss sometimes. But, sooner or later, you'll hit one out of the park!

Yours in success,

asolandis.

Advertisements and the Freelance Writer

Advertisements are one of the biggest indicators of a magazine's readership. They are also excellent for generating ideas.

First, let's look at the readership.

Ads tell you:

The age of the reader
Family circumstances
Disposable income
When was the last time you dissected an advertisement?

The age of the people in the ads is usually about the same as the readers. You wouldn't have a 20-year old female advertising a new make-up style in a publication targeted towards 45-year old males. Similarly, an advertisement for retirement villages wouldn't appear in a magazine for 18-year olds.

If the magazine is aimed at families, family groups will be in the ads.

Disposable income is easy. If the ads are for luxury items, leather travel goods, holidaying in the Bahamas, diamonds and jewellery, you won't be querying an article on how to save $20 when you shop at the supermarket.

Ads and Ideas If you're short of ideas, take a closer look at the ads. For example: An ad for exercise equipment. You could write articles about the individual pieces of equipment, exercise programs and other things to do with exercise. But if you think more laterally, other ideas with generate. The right diet for the exercise program, clothing, choosing the right footwear, making time, exercise increases endorphins.

Well, the list goes on.

Advertisements are a very important part of a Freelance Writer's arsenal and should never be overlooked.

3 Reasons Your Website Might Fail To Attract Enough Customers

Virtually all website owners concentrate their efforts and energy into getting more visitors. With business owners this effort is spent on getting more and more new customers. What many people forget - with both their website and their business - is that getting new customers (or visitors) is only a small part of the equation for success.

Reason For Failure No. 1 - The 'I am God'-Syndrome

God got his name from being able to do anything and everything and be everywhere at once. Despite what we are taught from an early age many people still insist on believing they themselves are God. Ever found yourself answering the phone, making a sale, running a sales meeting, welcoming customers and doing your company's accounts all in one day? Sure you have. You're trying to be God and do everything and be in more than one place at one time. You will fail. People do this with their website too.

Rather than just stopping at providing content (which is where you should stop and hand everything else over to the professionals) some people think that despite no professional training or education in the subject they are experts in web design, website marketing, graphic design and business consultancy. Remember - stick to what you know, leave everything else to the experts. Your job is to run your business - not to run around like a headless chicken trying to create a website, market a website, do the books, answer the phones and make the tea.

Reason For Failure No. 2 - 'Build It And They Will Come'

Ah yes. The halcyon days of the early 1990s when anything seemed possible and merely owning a domain name or funky web address meant certain success and riches beyond your wildest dreams. "Build it and they will come" is what they said. They were wrong.

Disaster after high profile disaster came crashing down into a pile of dotcom carnage as the millions poured into the idea pit were consumed by fast-spending entrepreneurs who possessed more pairs of trainers than they did explanations for where the profit was going to come from. Just remember - there are more web pages in the world than there are people so if you really think that just building a website is enough it's time for a serious re-think. You've spent the money on graphic design, content, domain names, hosting, web design and testing and your site has just gone live. Congratulations - you have just completed step 1 of 1000,001 in having a site that generates business for you.

You now need to market the site - just as you need to market your business when it first starts - advertising, fliers, yellow pages, referrals, networking, cold calls, direct marketing, mail shots, radio slots, events, conventions, product launches, press coverage etc. A website is exactly the same. Don't forget the new statement for the new age of new technology:

Build it and they will say - 'I can't find it!'

Reason For Failure No. 3 - You Choose The Wrong Website Marketing Company

It's difficult isn't it? There are so many to choose from how do you know where to start? Well word of mouth recommendation is always a good indication. Failing that you can look at the key areas that are likely to indicate the quality of their service. For example, ask these questions;

- Do they offer guarantees of any kind on their results?
- Do they proudly display testimonials from satisfied customers on their website?
- What is their profile on the web like, can you find them easily?
- Do they have detailed case studies explaining how they have helped other businesses?
- Do they have a long-standing track record in the industry and wide client-base?
- There is no real way to avoid making the wrong decision but if you keep learning more and more about website marketing you will be arming yourself with enough information to at least reduce the risk of choosing the wrong company.

10 Effective Ways To Gain More New Ezine Subscribers

1. Swap ads with other ezine publishers.

Swap sponsor, feature, classified or solo ads with
publishers who have subscribers targeted to be interested
in what your ezine covers.

This will provide both you and the other publisher with a
terrific way to get more subscriptions at no cost.

When choosing ezines to swap ads with, pick ezines that
offer content that your new subscribers would be interested
in, but not ezines that compete directly with you.

2. Write articles.

Your articles will give you a powerful way to get more new
subscribers through your resource box at the end of your
articles.

Submit your articles to article directories, article
announcement lists and also to ezine publishers looking for
articles to run in their ezines.

You could also create a list that announces when you've
written a new article or articles to get more publishers to
run your articles on a regular basis.

3. Create an ebook compilation of your articles and use it
as a bonus for subscribing to your publication.

Multiply the number of subscriptions you get from your ebook
by letting other ezine publishers use it as a bonus for
subscribing to their ezines.

You can also let people rebrand your ebook with a link to
their site or ezine to get more people to offer your ebook
as a bonus or on their sites.

4. Swap recommendations with other ezine publishers.

You could recommend another publisher's ezine in your own
words to your subscriber base in exchange for her doing the
same for you.

You could also run a recommended ezines section in each
issue or recommend other publishers' ezines on your "thank
you" page or in your welcome message in exchange for the
same to get long term promotion of your ezine.

5. Submit your ezine to ezine directories.

Your submissions will get your ezine noticed by people
interested in the topic your ezine covers.

Submitting your ezine to ezine directories can also help you
find more advertisers for your ezine and also other
publishers who would like to participate in joint ventures
with you.

6. Use ezine announcement lists to promote your ezine.

Many ezine announcement lists allow you to post ads for your
ezine on a weekly or monthly basis giving you an easy way to
successfully promote your ezine on an ongoing basis.

7. Make a sample issue available on your site or by
autoresponder.

Your sample issue will increase your subscriptions by
providing your visitors with a taste of the quality content
to be found in your ezine.

8. Use your signature file to promote your ezine.

Add a signature file that promotes your ezine to your
outgoing emails and also to your posts to discussion lists
or online forums.

9. Purchase advertising in other ezines.

Run your ad in ezines that you enjoy and reach your target
audience or search ezine directories for ezines that offer
good advertising rates.

Place your ad for at least three issues in a row as
repetition will help you get the most new subscribers from
your ads.

10. Place f~ree ads in other ezines.

Many ezine publishers allow their subscribers to place a
f~ree ad on a weekly, monthly or per issue basis as a
benefit to subscribing to their publications.

Track your f~ree ads so that you'll know which ad copy
produces the greatest results and which ezines would be good
choices to pay for advertising in or swap ads with.

5 Tips to Grow Your Business Globally

Entering into Global markets is a great way to organically grow your business. However, many small to mid sized businesses have a hard time, if they even venture to go global at all, entering global markets. Here are 5 tips for businesses looking to expand their business by entering global markets:

1.Revise your pricing strategy to suit local purchasing power. I like using this example: Microsoft is having a difficult time getting Mainland Chinese computer users to use their operating system and Office products. Why? Simply, it costs too much for locals to buy Microsoft products. Linux is popular in China simply because it is open-source and an affordable solution for that market. Mainland Chinese purchasing power is very low compared to those in the US or Europe. So, pricing your products and services according to local purchasing power is a must when entering foreign markets.

2.Tailor your product or service offering with the local market in mind. Why is Unilever having such success in Asian countries such as India and China? They tailored their products to be affordable for the general consumers who were mostly living in rural areas and were low-income earners. They did this not by offering a super-family size packaging but a smaller or sachet size packaging only marketed to these countries and demographics. As a small or medium business you would have more control over whether you can change the way you offer your products simply due to less red tape and top level management to go through thus making it easier to enter global markets.

3.Find a local partner who is on the frontlines. Having worked at a multinational company in their Asian headquarters, Ive seen far too many times where the Directors and CEOs sitting in their offices in the US and UK blindly launch new products in emerging markets (Asia specifically) simply due to media coverage and media hype about the latest and greatest market to be in. Often times than not, not listening to your frontline staff or getting the real deal from those on the frontlines in those markets will lead to failure. They know those markets intimately and hear and know about things that may not get reported in international news.

4.Know your local market and regional competitors. I remember one case where a business owner who ran a relatively successful online retail cosmetic business in North America and wanted to move that business model into China. The reasons why I believed it was not a feasible business model for that market:

There are literally thousands of physical retail shops selling low-cost to brand name cosmetics.
ECommerce and credit card usage in China is not popular. Cash still rules commercial transactions.
Mainland Chinese women go to Hong Kong to buy name brand products because they know that in Hong Kong the products are authentic.

So, its important to know whether your product, service or business model will be able to compete with local competitors. Ask yourself: How are locals in these markets presently sourcing these products or services?

Speaking of Asia as a region, often times you will need to look at regional competitors as well who may be headquartered in Hong Kong or Singapore but also market into the rest of Asia. So, being aware of regional competitors as well as local competitors is important to determining your place in these markets.

5.Be mindful of the local business culture. When you are developing business partnerships with local companies, be mindful of the way they do business in their country. For instance, the Asian region as a whole, consider the concept of Face an important concept. In Asian culture, it is not polite to be too direct or give direct rejection or create confrontations. Having cultural sensitivities will go a long way in developing your business partnerships in global markets.

In this age of the Internet and as more countries are being wired in, its becoming more feasible for businesses of any size to expand into international markets. So, start growing your business and expanding your reach. If you follow the tips above, youll have a good start to going global.

11 Reasons Not to Hire a Freelance Copywriter (and Why Theyre All Poor Excuses)

Think you can take the Copywriting Challenge on your own? Allow me to convince you otherwise! Here are eleven reasons why business owners typically choose not to hire a writer, and my argument for each.

Excuse 1. "Why pay someone else when I can do the writing myself?" Next time you sit down with a writing project, pay attention to how you feel. Mentally, are you quickly and effortlessly able to extract the essence of what makes your consumer offering worthwhile? Or do you find yourself mired in extraneous details, unable to focus on what should be crystal-clear to an outsider? Bring a copywriter into the mix, and get a fresh perspective on your product or service, and a clear focus on your product benefits.

Excuse 2. "I know my product/business better than anyone else." This may in fact be true. But when was the last time you analyzed your own target audience? As society evolves, so do the needs of the average consumer. A great product can weather the winds of change and stand up to the test of time but competition is stiff, and who is to say your good name will stay in the mainstream? A good writer will analyze the way people live in todays world and then add your product to that scheme in a way that makes it indispensible.

Excuse 3. "I find it difficult to work with someone in a remote location." Lets face it: its the year 2004 and the worlds greatest minds are linking up remotely in ways that are advancing them by light years. There is nothing more convenient than doling out a days work with a quick click of the mouse, checking your Inbox later and to find five projects awaiting your review. Electronic information transfer is the ideal way to save money, time and resources while making use of a freelance copywriter or graphic artists greatest strengths.

Excuse 4. "My business is in too great a state of flux for an outsider to keep up." While it may be true that you can typically "expect the unexpected", there is one thing that doesn't change: youve still got a message to convey and a family of products that compel you to put your best face forward. While youre dealing with market fluctuations, a writer can tap your potential buyer pool and harness that purchasing power with an advertising message worth its weight in gold.

Excuse 5. "We already have existing copy and it works just fine." Your current advertising may have served its purpose well once, but how many times have you recycled this same campaign? Another season means another reason to spend money! Let your writer do a little homework and find out what people are responding to of late. Great advertising uses the amazingly persuasive power of the written word to generate an actual psychological need for your product or service.

Excuse 6. "I cant afford such luxury business services." Many people view hiring independent contractors as a "big business" practice only. Not true! Think about how many times your full-timers worked overtime this year. If you paid them time-and-a-half, can you honestly say their output was up to snuff and worth the extra dime? Eliminate the headaches brought on by a disheartened group whose novice advertising attempts are gropings in the dark at best. Hire a professional writer to write ads that will turn your business around and pump up your sales volume!

Excuse 7. "We plan to bring on a full-time writer in the near future." Hiring someone new means another salary, another employee benefits packageand another set of commitments. While all this may seem like a worthy investment in the long run, theres no telling how the market will affect the future of your firm. Employ a Power Writer on a temp basis that you have the luxury of controlling, and work out a business deal that youre comfortable with.

Excuse 8. "Who needs fancy words? My product sells itself." Nowadays, youre competing with the entire world. Its called the global market, and if you want your name to be within the top rungs of the hierarchy, you must take steps to get yourself noticed. Ignoring the internet is the quickest way to lose your stronghold in your key market segment. Invest in a writer who can isolate your target audience and implement a killer ad strategy that will permanently burn your brand into the consumer mind.

Excuse 9. "Copywriters are for campaign work. We dont have a need for that." Copywriters earn their livelihood writing copynot just awe-inspiring headlines, but plain everyday language as its used in every aspect of your business. Crisp, professional writing lends polish and credibilityand establishes your corporation as one run by intelligent, exacting people... the kind others want to do business with! Dont let your reputation suffer at the hands of a poorly written piece! Call in a seasoned copywriter to get the message across with clarity, professionalism, and style.

Excuse 10. "My marketing person writes all of our promotions and ads already." If your marketing person is doing your writing, then who is doing your marketing? Ideally, your marketing guru should be conducting surveys and focus groups, planning long and short-term selling strategies. For those of you have a marketing expert who can do this AND flesh out the creative for all your compelling adswell, please introduce me to this Super Human! For the rest of you: let the marketing guy focus on his area of expertiseand leave the writing to the writer.

Excuse 11. "Im not comfortable revealing my business secrets to an unfamiliar outside party." Most writers create for the personal satisfaction that goes along with crafting a message that produces tangible results. By nature, a writer, or a graphic artist for that matter in fact has more to lose by sharing what they already know about effective advertising and mastering the tricks of the trade. An ad writer is happiest when she can deliver your message in the most succinct way possible, and yield incredible results for your business... in the way that you always imagined it could happen... but EVEN BETTER!

If you have experienced that frustating, you are going to love how hassle free it is to use and profit from ezine.

You and I suffer from the same problem ...... not buyers to our website... so they can buy your products and sign up for your information or offer. How to solve the problem. There are many ways folks do. One the best choise is ezine advertising. Yes !!!, ezine advertising is the way to go. It truly is. Here well show you what to look for in an ezine and how to know the ezines that are a waste of advertising money before you buy. There are few tips to follow to advirtise ad in ezine.

1. Decide what your advertising budget will be for this campaign.
Generally, an ad will run a week or two after you place your ad order, so you might as well buy enough advertising to run a month while youre in the process of finding the ezines and buying the ads.

2. Your ezine ad campaign will get better as you buy ads, test them and start optimizing your results.

3. I recommend being unique to use the ads, because many affliate or MLM company have provided using special ads then be aware that lots of other folks are using them too.

4. Compare the number of subscriber Vs. The Start date of the Ezine.
Look at the number of subscribers vs the start date of the ezine. There are many ezine had have many subcribers for few months. As an example lets you find ezine with 5000 subscriber and todays date is 3/1/00, you then notice the ezine first began on 11/15/99. You now know that the ezine has been publication for a little over three months and already 5000 subscribers. This type of ezine may not the best for advertise in because likely the subscriber arent all targeted. It also runs a higher risk of SPAM complaints.

5. Notice how many total ads are allowed in each issue.

If the publisher says unlimited or as many as you pay for then it may be a good idea for you to look at an on line version. Once you get your issue, you can see how many advertiser placed ads in the ezine . You may consider that there are too many ads to compete with.

6. Compare the price the Ad vs. The size of the Ezine.

Pay attention to the price of the ads vs. The size of the ezine. There is no set standard so you just need to compare. You may find an ezine with 500 subscriber charges $5 per ad, which is .01 per subscriber. Or you may find some that charge more. You ll need look and compare before you can get a feel for it.

10 Tips to Grow Your Business Plain & Simple

Try not to become a man of success but rather to become a man of value. Albert Einstein

Recently I heard a statistic that the majority of businesses operate at 60% of their potential. While I was unable to obtain the source of that statistic it seemed rather accurate or maybe even high. The Small Business Association reports that 2/3 of new employer firms survive at least 2 years, and about 1/2 survive at least 4 years. The language they use is almost as scary as the statistics themselves. This article provides tips to help you develop and grow a strong, solid business foundation.

1- Solid Plan with a Clear Simple Vision- Think of the impact you would like your business to have in the world. Think big! You may never reach your vision but the vision itself is so grand that your team gets excited about it. Then back up and look at what would have to happen to get there. Create a solid plan with realistic short and long term goals.

2- Focus on Profitability vs. Revenue- While revenue is important, high revenue doesnt add value if your expenses are just as high. What can you do to create more profit? Possibly develop various streams of income. What expenses could be reduced or eliminated? How can you operate more efficiently? Think profit.

3- Work in and on your business- Sometimes we get so caught up in daily tasks in our business we forget to step back to take a wider look from the outside. Seeing it through a customers eyes. Noticing how it fits into the community. Preparing the future of the company. On the other hand, we can get so comfortable working on our business we forget to step in to talk with customers and experience what the employees face on a daily basis.

4- Automate and Create Systems- What do you need to automate? What system can you put in place that would free up your time or make you more money? What tasks need to be eliminated, systematized, or delegated. What system would help your employees be more effective and provide the best service? Finally, is there a system that needs to be upgraded? Automation and systems help your business be consistent and efficient.

5- Consistent Marketing Plan- Marketing expert Jay Conrad Levinson of Guerilla Marketing has said that I hate to admit this, but mediocre marketing with commitment works better than brilliant marketing without commitment. It is important to have a marketing plan in place that is consistently and persistently being carried out on a daily basis....not just when you need more customers.

6- Increase Value to Your Customers- Give more than your customers ask for...more than they expect. There are 3 convenience stores by my neighborhood. The first one built I visited regularly and was satisfied. Nothing unique. The second I visited less than a handful of times and had to wait every time to get checked out so havent been back in years. Every time I get gas at the third store I am greeted over the intercom with a friendly Hi, how are you today?. When we go inside they are friendly and always provide my kids with a free lollipop. They even added a Post Office inside. Who do you think gets my money on a regular basis and with very little effort or money on their part? The one that gives more than I expect. What added value can you provide that will increase your Wow factor?

7- Innovate- React to the customers needs before they know they need it. Instead of selling what you want, sell what the customer needs. How do you know what they need? Take time to talk to them. At a minimum talk to your best customers and learn from each one youve lost. Find out what they would like and what their challenges are. Stay current on market trends in your industry.

8- Leadership vs. Management- Empower your staff to manage themselves. Do you really want to spend your time problem solving? Train them well. Make sure they know the vision of the company and they are on board because there is a personal win in place for them. The personal win gives the employee motivation to cooperate as part of the team.

9- Well Oiled Machine vs. Chaos- Is each section of your business operating efficiently while working together towards the common goal? Or are the members of your team expending time and energy daily putting out fires. What change can you make to shift your business out of crisis/ problem-solving to operating with ease?

10- Develop YOU! - Take a minute to hold your breathe. As you hold your breathe think about what you really want. See what happens. Unless you are uniquely talented you probably had trouble thinking about what you want....because your needs were not being met. When you take care of yourself... feel strong, healthy, happy, and have time and space in your life...you can focus on what you want and attract more to your business.

Take one step at a time and build a strong, solid business. Along the way build lots of reserves...time, money, space, revenue sources, future products, etc. and begin filling the gap to your potential.
